Directors are Stewards!
Directors make sure that management followed the law and moral principles while defending the interests of shareholders. is that it? or should directors look beyond?
Should they connect with all stakeholders, like customers, local communities, regulatory authorities? Should they focus on long-term sustainability, meaning companies need to do more than just generate profits?
As a director will you not need a software tool that assists you with the techniques of striking a balance between the interests of various stakeholders to make sure that decisions are taken with the ecosystem as a whole in mind?
As a director will you not need to appreciate the intricate relationships among financial performance, environmental sustainability, social responsibility, and business culture? Will you not be needing a software tool to be reminding of this mission all the time?
Beyond approving management choices, as a director you should actively participate in determining the organization’s strategic course. Directors can assist in guiding the business toward long-term value creation and sustainable growth by offering supervision, perspective, and experience. This entails not just evaluating possibilities and dangers but also promoting innovation and questioning accepted wisdom. Will you not need a software tool to put you on course with this mission?
As a director will you make an effort to keep lines of communication open with interested parties so that grievances are acknowledged and promptly resolved. This means that as a director you should be dedicated to morality, ethics, and following industry standards for corporate governance. A software tool of self-appraisal should put you on right course. Will you agree with this?
As a director you should be sensitive to social inequity, climate change, and ethical corporate practices. You will need a software tool that reminds you of these issues in performing your day-to-day work.
In other words, today’s directors are stewards. We are desirous of developing a software tool to assist them with stewardship.
