Director’s Personal Framework
We assume that a director self-evaluates his or her performance in pursuit of excellence. Do you agree with this?
We believe that every director has his or her own “personal framework”, meaning, rules, and principles to abide by in his or her efforts to improve all the time. This personal framework, as we call it, presents itself in the form of thoughts, habits, routines, diaries, notes, pictures, mind maps, videos, and podcasts, depending on the individual tastes of the leaders and directors. We would like to develop a software tool to assist directors to perform better. Do you think that there is a need for that tool?
It is expected of the board that it appraises the performance of each director. However, this will help the board to fulfil a governance requirement, rather than assisting the director to perform better. Do you agree with this? In other words, no matter whether board appraises the directors or not, directors should self-appraise themselves as often as possible in their own interest to effectively contribute as directors. Personal framework that directors maintain can be a matter of legacy and immense value in motivating and growing a community of ethical and effective directors. Will you agree with these comments?
